Hi, I’m Carina Balbo
I am the Managing Director of My Language Hub and I wear many other hats: learning designer, teacher, author, mentor, coach, copywriter, Marketing Manager ... you name it!
I am a Chartered Linguist, a professional translator, and a foreign language trainer with 25 years’ experience in the language profession.
I am from Argentina, and after moving to the UK, and while working full time as a freelance translator, I gradually became a professional Assessment specialist. I have worked with major Exam Boards, both in the UK and at international level, such as AQA, Cambridge Assessment and International Baccalaureate. I was also an IELTS examiner for 13 years.
I am also a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC), two the leading translation organisations in the UK.
I am the course leader of Foundations of Translation (FOT), a preparatory course towards the CIOL Diploma in Translation.
